The Big Red Shoe

I'm still contemplating whether or not this red beauty should come home with me. Perhaps outside the main door, at the corridor?

And if so, I would be "the little girl that lives in her red shoe". And no, I don't have many children, that I wouldn't know what to do.

Bags and shoes will do for now. Manolo and Louis, it's all I'm thinking of.

Oops, pardon the bimbo moment.

My Love

I've been eyeing this since a month ago, when the pre-fall collection was released. I went weak in the knees the moment I slipped my feet in to try.

It's a deeper blood red, compared to the chilli red pair.

Now, this pair is on its way back from one of my favouritest streets in the world, Via Condotti, Rome.

Ok, I really need to re-organise The Mothership now. I'm running out of shelves...... Don't ask how come.

What I Can't Say No To

The event went well, we raised a good sum of money for the beneficiary. Our artist did well too, he completed this in under 15 minutes, and sold it for $15k.

So to celebrate the accomplishment and the start of the GSS (I say this AGAIN - being right smack in the middle of the shopping belt, the lure of the malls is simply too irresistible), I indulged.

Like seriously, twice in a row, like I was on drugs. Am loving the red pair, didn't even realise that it has the potential to peep up skirts till @ndrea said so, haha.

Shoe-In

Spent some time over the last 2 weekends re-stocking re-arranging the Jemej Shoe Loft, aka "The Mothership" by Squarenails. Got more of those transparent plastic shoe boxes from Howards Storage World .

Except for the fact that those with heels higher than 2 1/2 inches can't be placed upright, these boxes are great 3 for the price of $24 - worth every dollar for being able to see my precioussss clearly.

And whilst I was at it, throwing out a couple of pairs of old ones, I decided that balance had to be regained in the Mothership. I mean, you throw out old shoes so as to buy new ones right?

This pair, frivolous, but I love the polka dots!

The "Swop"

Objective of the Swirl Swop:

Give away your clothes and get "new" ones without having to spend money.

How it works:

You bring the clothes you would no longer wear. The girls bring the clothes they would no longer wear. Put all the clothes together, and pick what you fancy. One of the rules - "No cat fights please".

How I fared:

While waiting for more people to arrive, waiting for the pile to become bigger, I got distracted by the collection from Swirl and Dotted Line.

Excitedly, I tried on a couple of pieces. Just when the Swap begins, I was still in the fitting room. The others had begun their rummaging through the pile already - I didn't have a good headstart....

And so, in anticipation of the Swirl Swop, Beanbean and I met for lunch at Cedele, Raffles City, lugging our big bags of clothings along. Hers was a HUGE bag!

We had a very nice time chatting and laughing over the funny, endearing habits of our hubbies. Pity that the service was pretty slow, there wasn't enough time for us to have the desserts that we so wanted to have.

Over at Swirl, although I didn't manage to find anything, it was really fun just being there for the experience. And seeing a few pieces of my clothes being picked up by the others, knowing that they will be treasured. There were yummy mini pastries and cocktail punch, even bumped into Inthewilderness! :)

And Beanbean managed to find a few pieces of treasures! :)

Soon after, we got more interested in the clothes that were on sale. Again, no luck with it this time round as well, the piece of dress that I liked and wanted to buy was slightly torn and that was the last piece. But Beanbean managed to find yet another treasure! Heh..

Even though I didn't "score" well at the Swirl Swop, which should have been a case whereby you get "new" clothes without having to spend money, I went back with new stuff nonetheless, at a price. Dammit, and I thought I could be saving some money this weekend.

Both Beanbean and I love the black and white polka-dotted top from Nicholas so much, that we bought one each! By the way, the piece in this pic belongs to her - both bags were accidentally "swapped" during the payment process. Haha! =p

Oh, and Beanbean was wearing this same pair of Hue slip-ons. Talk about having the same tastes! :)

They All Start with B

Because the big, gigantic red Manolo had a such a great impact on me, because The Boy made it even more clearly that surely, every girl needs a pair of Manolos and a pair of Jimmy Choos, and a pair of Christian Louboutin, and a pair of Ferragamos..., I was on the shoe hunt over the weekend.

And so, I walked away with these lovely two pairs. Well, can't afford the Blahniks, so the Birkenstocks will do, for now!

My Greatest Love

It's really very heartwarming and sweet when you see that the love of your life has been greatly influenced and inspired by the other love of your life.

It was 10plus last evening when The Boy called me, and insisted that I go down to his work place, to check out what he has been up to the whole evening. Together with the BBs (we were all working late on a Friday evening, how sad!), I walked into the lobby of his office building, only to be completed bowled over by his "guerilla marketing efforts".

I gasped and gasped and gasped at the beauty of the creation, that of course, I had to take a picture with it. If not for the agency people that were standing around me (who were complete strangers yet they have long heard of my shoe addiction), I would have sat in the shoe and be "the old woman". Or I could have even thrown my arms around it and embraced it with fervour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Boy then said that there were more, and went on to show us around. I kept wondering if he would be leading me to a REAL pair eventually, but haiz.... no such luck leh.

Anyway, I love the rest of the applications as well. Very very proud of him. He's always been the creative (and thus the less tidy of the 2) one in our relationship, and I guess it's because of this, he never fails to bring colours into our lives.

Now...bring me the REAL MANOLOS old man!!!!

Every Girl Needs A Few Pairs

Strange that since the last entry came up, Heng-mummy and daddy were very direct and to the point this evening at dinner, "So are you planning?". It's as if they can sense that I've been blogging about babies, in general.

Ok, they've always been direct before. Not like my conservative mum who went, "Uh, 你们...那个了没有?" I almost fell off my chair when she asked that. 什么这个那个??!! More so, this evening was like grilling more than the usual, casual questioning. It was as if they were really pushing for a definitive answer of when exactly.

So since this is the case, perhaps in this entry, if I talk about shoes, someone will buy me a pair! Yes?! No?!

Yups, decided to wear this pair this morning, one of the "loot" from Italy. As I stepped out of the house, I commented to The Boy, "Wah, no wonder I love F. It's really shiok. Feels as if I'm walking in heaven."

He looked at me, looked at the shoes, and said, "In this case, why don't you walk to work?"

Husband, you better buy me another pair, for even thinking this way!!!!!!!
