Back to Yangon
We left the idyllic and serene Inle Lake, to head back to Yangon today. A bit sad, as I have grown to be so fond of the simple, laid back culture, as well as the warm hospitality of the people. The whole experience in Inle was just unbelievably refreshing and welcoming. We are going to miss this place.
Intermission on the plane:
Brightened up at the thought of going back to Mangosteen, the furniture shop. We have a list of items in mind already, so it was just left with the negotiation of prices. We are absolutely excited about our furniture as the workmanship is simply beautiful - sleek and elegant. We are glad that the owner would entertain our order as he usually does bulk orders for hotels such as Shangri La etc.
Both of us, in our own time, have already gone through in our minds where exactly we want to place each piece of furniture. We can so picture it. They will be beautiful, the Burmese teak with the touches of mother of pearl....
Had dinner with Munch's colleagues based in Myanmar in the evening. Visited one of the few local pubs called Mr Guitar thereafter. Now I remember where his "Mr Guitar" t-shirt came from....
