Down to the Registry

We were OFF today, and it was an early-morning trip down to the ROM on this 2006 Valentine's Day. We said some kind of oath declaring our age, citizenship and stuff. Collected our Marriage Cert. We felt like we were "half married". AHA! We've done it - the millions of couples who must have taken their photos right here at this spot.


We couldn't help taking more of these cliche shots. But hey, I've always wondered how it feels like to come down to the ROM one day, for MY OWN marriage, so there!


Then it was a surprise trip for The Boy down to Vanilla Pod, where I've made lunch reservations earlier on. We've always wanted to check out this place. Chose lunch cos I really don't want us to sit elbow to elbow with other couples during dinner. It was a really pretty and peaceful place. Food's not bad and service was ok too. The cutlery, glassware and napkin were stained though. I had to get replacements. Nonetheless, the ambience (and company of course) made up for everything else.


Being owned by the Orchid Gardens, Vanilla Pod is known for having some specialties that are orchid-infused. We started off this Anna Garden Orchid Crabmeat Salad. Not bad, very refreshing, tangy taste.


Then came our main course. Mine was Pesto Tagliatelle with Sun-dried Tomatoes & Asparugus and he had Spaghetti Vongole. YUM!




Dessert was not too bad either, though the consistency could be thicker and firmer. Felt a bit as if it was left out in the open too long and melting.


But we sure enjoyed our time together, simply glad that we were off today while the rest of the world was working. Heh...
