HK Part 3 - A Shoe Affair
To everyone we (i.e. Jem's mummy & I) met, we claimed there was not much to buy in HK, "too expensive". Admittedly, there was a fair amount of shoe shopping. Our first stop was to Golden Plaza at Prince Edward. Here, 4 storeys worth of wedding shopping, from wedding gowns to favours to shoes to ang baos to kuas to suites to anything wedding. HK may be faster moving in terms of fashion trend, but when it comes to weddings, they are still far far FAR behind. The evening gowns are just way too shimmery that a fisherman may be tempted to scale you if you are wearing one. The designs for groom's suites were fascinating, complete with ruffles, coat chain and shimmer.
Ok, back to shoes. The only thing I thought was probably worth a try. Ended up with some, as you can see here..... 
Love my pair of red silk shoes with fur balls. Only S$8!! Although I haven't quite decided whether to put on a kua for the tea ceremony... (And these do not include 2 other pairs of "non-wedding" shoes. Heh.)
In addition, lugged back a red umbrella with red lace trimmings all the way. Couldn't pack it into the luggage, so hand-carried. Guess we need it?

love that furball! I wld have wanted to adorn one with my kua, except i need stilettos for that long kua skirt.
Anyway, red brolly was used in olden times for fathers to shield their marrying daughters from evil forces on the wedding day.
Your dad may want to use that when u first step out of the hse when jem comes pick u up.

Yeah, but apparently, they have this design with heels too. They look like pumps, just that it's red in colour. Couldn't alter length of skirt for kua?
I do know they carry this red umbrella for the bride when she steps out of house. For what and carry by who, I didn't know. Now I know! :D
my parents bought the kua from HK so I didn't really want to alter it lah. Keep it original for my cousins and sisters. Heh.
