And the Week Flew By

It has been a busy week. The Boy is finally back, after yet another week-long trip to LA. So lucky huh? And while he was away:

  • Monday: The walls of the Jemej Bliss-arium came down - reno has finally started. We are so excited about it. Pictures of progress will come later.... And it's been on the phone with our contractor every morning, him reporting on the progress of the hacking and all.

  • Tuesday: Met up with Margaret to confirm EG design and took measurements. Work on the WG and EG has finally started too! 23 Apr will be first fitting. Can't wait!

  • Wednesday: Sent some clothes over to Jem's mum's tailor for alteration. She's good! Hmmmm... will consider her for making some cheongsams and dresses....

  • Thursday: D shopping with someone for something...

  • Friday: Picked up The Boy from the airport at 6am.

  • Saturday: Worked till late afternoon. Went lace shopping in Arab Street with Jem's mum for our dresses and cheongsams. (It was FUN!) Met Cathy in the evening for our "home interview" - a start to prepare for the Jemej wedding in November.

  • Sunday: Back to Arab Street to continue the search for even more fabric, even though we bought quite a fair bit yesterday. (It's addictive.) Went down to the electrical appliance shop to order our goods for the new Jemej Bliss-arium. We got our cooker hood and hob, TVs, fridge, washing machine and microwave confirmed. YAY! Then it was down to town to get some facial stuff for moi, before zipping back home to visit the "guo da li" guy in Beauty World to get a better idea for Jay and Jen's wedding prep.

  • Gee, I didn't know this week was so intense till I jotted everything down. No wonder I'm so tired now. Haha. Haven't been to town for a long time, and so while we were there, we managed a cuppa for a breather:

    A pair of tired munchkins!

I know which "guo da li" guy! my mum went to that shop too! Hehe!

Rather interested to know what that shopping for something is about. Hehehe :P

Are the dresses/cheongsams for the brother's wedding?

Such a packed week where did u squeeze time for a cuppa in town? Must confess have not been to mccafe!

hehe... but there are quite a few guys there. Which one your mum went to? Mine's Hup Kee. I've been there since I was a kid, my grandma goes there every other day to chit chat with them, and I tagged along.

Oh, the SHOPPING... we do this offline ya? heh. or else someone will kill me. ;)

Yup, the dresses and all for the brother's wedding. I must say the fabric buying is rather addictive! You realise you can do whatever you fancy, at only a fraction of the boutique price! And can be more creative too! And it's fun shopping for the materials.

WHAT?! You haven't been to mccafe? The one at Lido, not bad la. But can't beat the selection of cakes and every thing else compared to good old starbucks. And I'm still so tired. It was a really busy week. =p

jem - this is our break from work ok, dont deny us this lil gossip corner on the internet.

hiyah yes yes I always wanted to tailor make stuff seeing that I can't fit into any dresses off the rack.but no good tailor - u must intro me to your mil's tailor, when she is not so busy making pretty dresses for u ladies.

How many dresses u making? sounds like its as many changes as the bride!

guess we cant seem to connect ronald macdonald to coffee? Hehe. always fries and only fries.

beanbean > yup yup, we using wedding planner. the "home interview" was a session for us to go through, right from the very first day we met, our courtship process. She also asked what would our dream wedding be like and stuff. She'll take a couple of months to brainstorm some ideas for the dinner itself. Not too sure what she'll come up with, but i'm sure it'll be fun!

you've made some dresses with arab street loot?

lilsnooze > haha, not sure leh. think should be 1 dress for day and 1 for night. cannot be as many as the bride la! but i got some extra fabric to make some simple cheongsams which i think could be quite nice for future dinner functions. Especially now that I'm supposed to be immersed in "asian grace, warmth and care" - the company's philosophy - we have lots of cheongsam clad ladies around here. So probably got inspired. haha

tailor is haha, very near your church. somewhere near the yamaha school there. it was quite dark, can't see clearly. will give you address. she catches the body shape quite well, apparently. so can try! She was supposedly working under francis cheong before.

oh yes, tell me about the fries and coke...
