Ivy in the Wild
No fitting at Margaret's today. She called to say she wasn't ready as there was more patch-work of the lace than expected. Hence, the Jemej went on a site recce today, in search of some of our favourite spots, for the upcoming outdoor wedding photography.
First stop was at Bark Cafe / Changi Chapel Museum. It being so near our place, it was always one of the places we hung out for a nice, cosy dinner. But we never knew so much lay behind the white pristine walls - an entire museum in itself! We'll be sure to come by one day to slowly go through the exhibits one by one.
Next, Sungei Buloh - one of our all-time favourite pak-tor places. However, enroute there, we chanced upon a beautiful paradise - Poison Ivy. Yeah, we read about it in the papers. But we didn't realise this was the place till we stepped in. An absolutely beautiful eatery in the middle of the wilds, amidst a lush landscape of greens. This discovery was simply euphoric!
Although dinner time wasn't too far away, we still had to tuck into the delightful snacks - a selection of 3 yummy kueh kuehs, being the banana bread, kueh bingkar (baked from farm-grown tapioca) and kueh koshi. The kueh bingkar was warm and soft, the melt-in-your-mouth kind. Heavenly. The drinks - fig tea (a refreshing blend of fig leaves & sugar cane) and aloe vera (farm-grown). Mmmmmmmm..... And here's The Boy happily tucking into his curry chicken as well.
After that, it was a leisurely little stroll in the farm. Coupled with the nice cool weather, this place truly felt out of the world. 
Wihout fail, The Boy comes up with some ingenious, creative photo angles, quite CORN-KNEE they can be, including the "You Vant to Eat?" one. 
And of course, he lovingly poses for these shots - including an attempt to replicate the Sir Stamford Raffles pose. And if anyone ever catches us in action, you would probably see one posing in a variety of "creative" styles and the other one laughing uncontrollably, trying to get a steady shot with the camera. 
We love this place. We'll be back again soon. Next stop: The goat farm down the road.

we rarely ever journey over to the east - we get lost! :P but you've given some incentive to go over and check it out. :)

lilsnooze > yah! we (ok, maybe it's more me) love the out-of-this-world feel. He dreads the drive though, quite tiring. Hahahaha. But do check out poison ivy, very nice place.
beanbean > heh, this one is in the west darling. Go all the way straight from NTU jln bahar entrance, past all the cemetries and all the farms. Go check out the goat farm too!!! There are fish and flora & fauna farms too! Very nice, idyllic place!
where's Poison Ivy? it sounds so nice... you are tempting me!

eh, hahahahaha... aiyoh, my sense of direction really cannot make it! never been to sungei bulah and your earlier changi chapel comment throew me. heh. feel silly now, esp since, errm, i've lived really near NTU for the past 5 years! oops :P

little miss bead-a-lot > ok, the address is 100 Neo Tiew Road. If you have been to sungei buloh, it's in that direction. Absolutely in the middle of no man's land, you can only get there by car. Very nice drive through all the farms and loads of greens!
