Bae Yong Jun vs Takeshi Kaneshiro
No, I didn't have a close-up encounter with either of these hot hunks. The closest I got was a taste, not of them, but of their native cuisines. Misleading title, that's all.
Last Friday :: Mudgod, Ms P and the Munchkins decided that kimchi would be the flavour of the night. Settled nicely into Togi, off Katong Road, quite late in the evening. Was met with an extremely warm and young Korean lady who was fussing all over us. Mudgod wanted to bring in some wines, at no corkage charge, and she even prepared some glasses and cheese for us! But he didn't buy, thinking we would be having shio jiu instead. We didn't - the alcoholic content was 21%. He scooted off immediately to get some Australian wines from nearby Cold Storage, which turned out very nice.
The fare was extremely good, absolutely enjoyable. Never too much a fan of Korean food, this was turning out to be such a fantastic meal! Ramen - the classic instant noodles - was cooked to such a nice texture with uh, bounce. Whether in soup with slurp factor 10 or fried with tasty kimchi, these "convenient" food were simply YUMMY!
The Boys in their moments of delusion - thinking they are the most desirable homosapiens next to Bae Yong Jun.
The Gals - the truly desirable ones. With the extremely young and cute "lao ban niang" - she was very chatty and chirpy.
Today :: Had the honour of doing a food review at a new eatery at Marina Square, thanks to a certain lady who has a love for the colour purple. Lovers of Japanese green tea and red bean desserts, this place is definitely worth a visit! The soft vanilla ice cream, though not as tasty as MacDonald's soft serve, is made from some milk from Hokkaido, so it's supposed to be healthier.
The green tea ice cream with red bean paste, surrounded with little dumplings, was heavenly. The green tea latte was aromatic with an innovative presentation - served with a little whisk. There is even a range of desserts with a jelly called kanten in them, that's supposed to have a slimming effect. Gals, wait no longer. You can actually lose weight eating desserts!
Looks like we two will be coming by more often for that dose of sweet indulgence, guilt-free!!
