Home Early

Record-breaking - I was home:

  • BEFORE the skies turned dark this evening

  • WHEN the smell of delicious home-cooking of dinners was wafting through the void deck when I walked through

  • WHEN the little children were coming home from school, alighting from their school buses

  • WHEN it was only 6pm!!

  • Very rarely, I haven't quite remember doing this for the longest time, that I've left work to be home so early. Decided to go straight home from a product shoot at a studio that was nearer to home than to work. Plus, the BBs are taking good care of work back at the office.

With more time on my hands, decided to cook a simple dinner for The Boy. VERY simple indeed, as I don't stock up too much foods in the house. I told him, "Just plain porridge ok? Plain porridge with nothing ok?" He said anything, as long as I'm cooking. At least, there were some eggs and luncheon meat (the man needs his MEAT), and some pickled vegetables.

This, to me, is pure bliss - to be able to fulfil my other role, of being the wife, on a normal working day.

This, to him, is shiokadelic - piping hot dinner ready when he stepped into the house.

This, to us, is the best form of dinner ever - simplicity and comfort, in our own world.

This was followed by some fresh cut fruits, and dozing off in each other's arms in front of the TV. And the night was still young by then.

I spot fermented beancurd!!! Love it to bits. I can eat like the whole bottle by myself at one go.

imp > very comforting right?! Haha, i also just agar agar, just put rice and lots of lots of water and boil! And keep boiling till you like the consistency! ;)

lingz > yup yup, men prefer rice anytime! :D

beanbean > seemed like it was a "cook dinner" day! yours looked so professional and yummy!! I'm sure if YOU cook it, DD can't say no! ;)

corsage > hahaaha! that's so coincidental, so many of us cooking that evening! :D

jem > the clothes and shoes that i buy look quite simple, AND they are comfortable what. Like a pair of ferragamo pumps. Simplicity and comfort defined.
