Top of the World
In between a weekend that flew by too fast and being caught up in organisational struggles and people being "released" for non-justified reasons, I recall the lovely, carefree time The Boy and I had on the rooftop of the Screening Room last Saturday, after my cooking class. We checked out the quaint, little boutiques along some of our favourite haunts - Club Street, Erskine Road and Ann Siang Hill.
On the spur of the moment, and in a bid to be "happening", we ventured bravely into the Screening Room, all the way right to the top. The view was pretty scenic from the rooftop, as we stared out at all the commercial buildings around us. Not the kind of "scenic view" as that when we were on Mount Cook, but really, it felt like a respite from all the hustle and bustle of things. We felt at peace, rising above all the chaos that went on below. Perhaps, that's the perspective I should take at work - find my space and footing and not get swept along with the current - rise above it all. And I know that the Lord will be there to give me that lift.
Finally, one of the first things I said to The Boy when he just returned from his trip overseas was, "Looking at you is like my sanity returning". I can't wait for the weekend.
