Food, Food, Food and Friends!

As if the sugar-laden dessert-making class was not enough, it was a weekend whereby we pigged out too. After Phoon Huat at Holland V on Saturday, brought The Boy to try his first Holland Village X.O Fish Head Noodles.

We sat in the coffee shop, slurping up the hor fun and thick bee hoon in the dry and soup versions respectively. We caught up with each other, from the lack of time we have been spending together in the past week. We talked, we laughed, we enjoyed the yummy food, we enjoyed each other's company. We didn't even know when it started to rain!

On Sunday, it was catch-up time with the super heroes and their better halves at Halia, nestled amidst the Ginger Gardens at Botanic Gardens. We've always loved this place - the food, the ambience. It was, in fact, one of the choice venues for our ROM back then. I had wanted to try their breakfast, but everyone complained that it was too early. So lunch it was then.

The food was excellent, as always. I loved my vanilla bean-scented grilled chicken - I must figure out how they do it. The company was great, catching up with travel tales and wedding preps. Yes, TWO weddings next year for Mudgod & Ms P as well as Mudfairy and Pam, and we are really excited about it. I love weddings! :D

The desserts were DIVINE. And it was kinda odd when Mudgod and my husband decided to pose for a picture flashing their wedding bands - cos they looked more like they two were happily married to EACH OTHER....

OK! I MUST make sure we check out the breakfast next time. It'd be so nice to have that, followed by a nice walk in the gardens... Uh, am I sounding like an auntie??

Not auntie at all. It's nice to have a slow leisurely breakkie and then take a walk in the gardens. Better than wolfing down the food which is not enjoyment at all.

i used to go to holland drive for the XO fish noodles and the prawn paste chicken. but after they charged us $8 for 5 freaking small stalks of kai lan, and provided less than satisfactory service 90% of the time, they lost us! anyway, your post is making me hungry...again! :p

dr > Woo hoo! At least you think so! I think it's more of us women who like that. Men, they are just too lazy to go for these walks!! =p

vanessa > And the HOT year will start off with YOURS with a bang! Heheheheh ;)

I personally like the dry version better, it's really yummy!

yuling > Oh yes, the prawn paste chicken was really tasty too! They are indeed quite pricey - 2 of us ate $29 worth of fish head noodles, prawn paste chicken and kai lan....
