Garung Guni Man

Between every couple, I believe that one of them would have a greater tendency to HOARD. One of which would tend to be more "sentimental" and would want to keep every single item that he/she deems as "a piece of memory". Being the anal person that I am, to the brink of showing symptoms of OCD, the "hoarder" in our relationship is naturally my husband.

He changed jobs 8 months ago. He shifted out from his old office with FOUR boxes of stuff. It wasn't until the last few weekends that we finally got down to clearing the boxes out. It took quite a bit of effort to coerce this "sentimental" guy to separate the piles of stuff into 2 lots:

(1) To keep for future reference.
(2) To DUMP.

The second part proved a lot more heartbreaking for him. But seriously, you can't keep bringing back 4 boxes of documents/files/books/folders every time you change jobs or move office, because we will soon run out of space to store them. Or better still, we'll make it to the tabloids of 晚报 as the HDB flat that has been discovered to be overflowing with all kinds of stuff that "weird couple" brings back from everywhere.

As I was helping him to go through the items to be discarded, I chanced upon this, which I thought was the ultimate winner. Why does he need to keep the instruction sheet on how to operate the air-conditioner control from a hotel in Dublin????

I couldn't resist but went over to the still-sleeping boy and ruffled his hair. Ok lah, his "quirky" habits do get on my nerves sometimes, but yet, at other times, they are really quite endearing.... I suppose this is called "Marriage".
