Day Out @ Haji
Our today started like this:
- The Boy:: Baby, what you wanna do today?
Me:: Let's go Sim Lim!
He looked at me incredulously, wondering why on earth would I suggest Sim Lim, of all malls.
- The Boy:: But Sim Lim doesn't sell clothes leh.
Me:: I know. I just wanna go there to get the screen protector for my new iphone la.
Thanks to the ingenious Shutterbug, I would be able to use the phone soon. :)
En-route to Sim Lim, I suggested that we check out Haji Lane for a bit. Haven't actually been to Haji Lane till today. And I don't know whether it's because I haven't gone shopping for a long (?) time, or just that my "luck" is good today, MANY things caught my eye.
Some of the shops were really well designed, I love the creative flair of the interior decor. The Boy and I had a really good time walking in and out of these 2-storey shophouses, taking in the artsy charm of the place. Quite a number of the shops had both male and female clothes, so The Boy didn't get bored too fast, and could browse through the racks too.
Weather was pretty good, not too sunny. We even took a break with some smooth teh tarik.
Towards the end of the evening, we still haven't reached Sim Lim. (To which The Boy wasn't surprised at all.) Guess I was too happy, scoring great bargains, with each top costing only about 30 bucks. Heh. And the damage?
For the records, we did manage to go Sim Lim after all. For just 30 minutes, a quick zip in and out once I got the protector sheet done. Ha.

No worries, next time if you want, we can arrange to go together! They've got quite a few vintage shops, selling even toys from the past years, very cool!
michelle > Er, actually, there was nothing that caught his eye. He did see a couple of cool shirts, but he said too expensive. :D

yuling > oh yes, one of them sells little snacks like chickadees, lollipops, very mama-shop style, love it! :)
inthewilderness > We can arrange to go there again together if possible! It's now one of my fav shopping haunts. Heh.

BBL > Absolutely! You know me well, heh! Let's go there sometime in the near future, after Swirl, after Granny's Day Out, after etc etc etc.... Too many!!
candice > oh yes they do! I think the place you buy ribbons from should be the lane across - Haji Lane's pretty tucked away with plenty of treasures! I think you'll love the place!
blushinbride > Yup, I'm most happy about the vintage clutches, heh! :)
I lurve all your buys!! Didn't know there were shops there..
oh, i just remember that my friend's SHOE AND BAGS shop is at haji too! not sure if you visited them... bianca.
found a blog entry about the shop: http://fashionation.wordpress.com/2008/01/08/bianca-loves-shoes/
mich, EJ and you are making me very tempted to go Haji Lane to explore every shop!
i've never been there myself. other than my cousin's bridal shop which is at bali lane. but i have gone through that lane before... just never shopped there YET!
the thing about haji lane is that i find everything a bit spread out - would have liked the shops to be more clustered together. but it looks like you did very well for yourself!
pebbles > you should go check out the place if you love street wear and vintage! :)
michelle > GASP! no leh! Such pretty shoes, how could I have missed out?! Maybe it was closed on the public holiday, dunno. Will definitely open my eyes big big the next time I'm there again!!
candice > come la, we arrange a bloggers' trip to Haji Lane! heheeheh
beanbean > you sound like the type of shopper who likes everything under one roof, hee. I was curious about seeing every shop, so i guess i had the "stamina" to browse through slowly! :) And boy, big damage to pocket at the end of the day though! =p
