Shoe-In
Spent some time over the last 2 weekends re-stocking re-arranging the Jemej Shoe Loft, aka "The Mothership" by Squarenails. Got more of those transparent plastic shoe boxes from Howards Storage World .
Except for the fact that those with heels higher than 2 1/2 inches can't be placed upright, these boxes are great 3 for the price of $24 - worth every dollar for being able to see my precioussss clearly.
And whilst I was at it, throwing out a couple of pairs of old ones, I decided that balance had to be regained in the Mothership. I mean, you throw out old shoes so as to buy new ones right?
This pair, frivolous, but I love the polka dots!

not frivolous at all! the polka dots are so cheery! happy dotty dots! :D
Tsk tsk. Even with storage boxes you must buy the more high-class ones hor? Mine are just $2 each.
Gosh.. you have about 60 pairs of shoes... so you spent 60/3 x $24??? :P
But we still lup!

Ladies, I think the polka dots are new to the mothership! :P
Ooh, I was just thinking this morning I need to store my shoes properly instead of in their shoeboxes!
I want to know whereyour BBL gets her $2 boxes!
Great way to store shoes but erm..the boxes are abit ex..although it looks really good! Hmm..the $2 boxes sound tempting..
ooh! great way to store! they look so delicious inside the boxes!
wow!! the boxes!!! that an investment!!! :)
the green/turquoise pair in the pic with all the boxes looks really pretty!!
i think daiso got these boxes too! =)
i LIKE the green bejewelled one! :)
the doties are nice!~
I actually trudged down to Daiso at Vivo to hunt for it, but they were out of stock last year. Perhaps you can try again. I found mine later on at BIG superstore, also at Vivo but I'm not sure if they are closed yet?
Anyway, it can be bought in bulk (i think 100 pieces) at a cheaper price if not I found this person selling her leftover stock at $2.30 each: http://www.singaporebrides.com/forumboard/messages/194/622640.html?1204605616
Hope this helps!

Wow! That must have taken a while to sort everything out. But very neat indeed.
oohh.. i like the shoeboxes. i think i need them now. I've moved in with the in-laws since Nov but I've got 1 more box of shoes yet to be unpacked!!!
btw, the shoe boxes don't look like they've got any ventilation holes? they look like tupperware! hee.
How about a shoe wheel? this really caught my eye.
It can hold up to 30 pairs of shoes.
Rakku Shoe Wheel at $129

Psst. Spotted an article in My Paper speaking about Chatterbox moving to the top floor and you mentioned something there..
Haha, sorry ladies, need to clarify that the 1st pic with all that many plastic boxes of shoes was taken off from Howards Storage World website - my shoe racks don't look like that. And thus, unfortunately, that lovely pair of turquoise heels doesn't belong to me. Hee, sorry!
And lilsnooze is right, yes, the polka dotted pair is a new (not newest though since last Sunday when this entry was written) addition. Frivolous I say because 5 out of 7 days a week, I have to wear black covered shoes, so I really don't know how many times a year I'll be wearing this. But hey, I'm happy with the buy! *grins*
imp, dr > yup, it's time well spent, arranging the shoes, making sure they look visible and nice in the boxes. Otherwise, I tend to forget which other pair of shoes i have. =p
lingz > you haven't unpacked 1 box of shoes since Nov?! You must have a lot of shoes! :D
passerby > a shoe wheel does sound like a great suggestion, cos I'm running out of space on the shelves, need to think of alternatives. thanks! ;)
pebbles > Oh haha, do come UP for chicken rice sometime! Would be good to meet up with you :)
my mom uses these transparent boxes for her shoes as well! can't remember where she got them from... i find it very effective and a better (and lazier) alternative to the other popular method - using the shoe boxes and sticking a photo of the pic on the outside of the box!
Yah, cos taking photo means you have to update regularly, as and when you buy new shoes. Heh.
I got mine from Howards Storage World! Otherwise, there's a cheaper alternative at Daiso! :)
