Home Is Where The Heart-Lands

Yes! Today was our final appointment with the HDB. We are officially the proud owners of a beautiful EA!! We've come a long way. It started almost a year ago when we first decided that we would spend the rest of our lives together, and we embarked on that journey by attempting the whole process, the Singaporean way, of getting an apartment - balloting.

Balloting was tough. A few months later, it was walk-in selection. That proved even harder. How were we to know that people actually queue overnight for such exercises? Albeit the restless months of waiting for results, the time we spent checking out one show flat after another all over the island was well worth it. We were developing more and more ideas of doing up our dream home - we wanted a loft we can retreat into, and cuddle in our little bubble world... We even started a scrap book of a collection of interior designs.

It was a classified ad. We called up the agent. We made an appointment. We walked into the flat with his parents. We fell in love with it. My parents came and checked out the place. They too, fell in love with it. We signed the papers. Now, half a year later, 2 of us, giggling and squealing with delight at the Hub. People could tell. They smiled. We grinned back at them.
The keys are officially in our hands....
