Of Bows and Grills

Highlight of the day #1: I realised all black bow ties look the same.

The Boy and I went Robinsons shopping for his tux shirt (which we never knew one costs so much) and a bow tie - for both Jembro's wedding and maybe to be used again for ours. I asked for all the designs of the black bow ties that they have. They looked confused, and got me several brands.

I looked at them. I always thought maybe there could be some slight difference, one from the other. Maybe one has a slight more sheen, maybe one is made of a different material. I don't know. They all looked the same to me. Unless I choose the yellow polka dotted one, all black bow ties look the same. Gee. No wonder they say being a girl is so much more fun.

Obviously, I'm not too well acquainted with the men's fashion department. I couldn't tell The Boy how the bow tie should be worn. Whether the wings thingee should be flapping out or tucked in. Okie, we'll be down to Tettsuti on Monday. We will get enlightenment then.

Highlight of the day #2: Kazu is OEISHI!

Since we were at Centrepoint, popped over to cuppage centre to try our luck at Kazu Sumi-Yaki. It was full the last time Mudgod, Ms P and us tried to have dinner there. This time, even though we didn't make any reservations, we were lucky to be given the counter seats.

Over at the counter, perched on our high chairs, we could check out the chefs in action, grilling the delicacies. It seems like the pork belly skewers are the favourites here. Since I'm like 70% halal, we stayed clear of anything pork. The mushrooms wrapped in fresh eel were yummy.

The cod was heavenly. Melts in the mouth. And the wagyu beef, mmmmmmm.... juicy and tender. We ordered like there's no tomorrow. Too stuffed by the end of the evening. With a big hole in the pocket too. Haha.

Haha, meaning I don't like pork! Cannot tahan the smell, especially in kway chap! =p

Food is not cheap, but not so ex either. Mid-price. A skewer stick of yummy scallops was about $2. But we ordered a lot, ended up with a $100 bill. bleah. But we enjoyed it!

70% halal is a funny way to describe it! ha ha.

you're right about it being more fun to be a girl - I'm always going out of my mind when I have to shop with DD for work trousers cos he only buys black and they're all the SAME...
