Catch Up
Met up with Anni this evening. How time flies. Didn't think it was too long when she first came back, to take a break during her school holidays. And now, in the blink of an eye, she'll be going back to Germany again next week.
Dinner was at Central. Have been wanting to try this cha chan teng for the longest time. It's amazing how much of a "mountain tortoise" I am. Cha chan tengs have sprung up in every corner of the island since eons ago. And to date, I've only eaten at Xin Wang before.
So, checking out the menu at Central was certainly very refreshing, very exciting for me. The nissin noodles I had was very yummy (though a tad oily), and the turnip cake with XO chilli sauce was not too bad either (crispy enough on the outside). I can't wait to be back again to try out the other items on the menu!
It was coffee after that as Anni shared with me what she and Mogs have been up to. Very very happy for Mogs that he has made it to Harvard. One very VALID reason why a trip to Boston AND New York should be in place soon. I hear Saks Fifth Avenue calling me...
Anni had wanted very much to have Ah Ballings as our dessert. But other than the super ones at Beach Road, I didn't think Taka has them. It was very heartwarming to see an authentic German lady craving for ah ballings. She has certainly assimilated very well into our local culture since she was staying here for quite a number of years. Goodbye Anni, we'll miss you dearly.
