Eventful Weekend
So fast! In the blink of an eye, the weekend flew by quickly. It passes especially fast when you have work on the Saturday. By the time I got off work, after a media interview with our new artists, it was already halfway to the evening. We headed for the Botanic Gardens in the evening, to meet up with some friends whom I haven't met since the wedding. *guilty*
It was a surprise party for her, to celebrate her 40th birthday. She doesn't look a day past 32 lor!
On Sunday, it was lunch at Central (char can teng) at Parkway Parade after church, a place I've been wanting to bring The Boy to. Although the menu was the same as that at the Takashimaya branch, somehow the food didn't taste as good. The turnip cake was a bit too oily. Quite a disappointment.
Come evening, it was Phantom of the Opera. This was the last day they would be playing, and I must say, out of the few times I've watched this musical, this last time touched me the most. Somehow, the acting and singing this last evening was extraordinarily impressive, Phantom performed his role almost to perfection - his singing so soulful that I could almost feel his pain! My bro took my sis' place, who was supposed to watch with us, but had to go to Germany instead.
Had to go back to hotel after the show, as it was the gala dinner night for a regional culinary challenge, and I got the news that we clinched the gold medal (which meant it was going to be a busy busy Monday morning for me, with all the PR to be done). Oh, check out Michelangelo (chef/owner of Michelangelos' etc) in the background - the way he talks, he really reminded me of the Italian Godfather. Apparently, all the Italian chefs who first arrive in Singapore go visit him for advice....

i must say your job really sounds like fun! =)
There are times of fun, but "backstage", lots of hard work and stress too. And hospitality on the whole, has been proven to have one of the longest working hours on the average. :D
Hey gal,
Jem and your brother look alike in these two pictures
haha, my bro's a geek. I'm not sure how Jem would take it! hahahaa ;)
