Being Together

The hubby has been so hard at work the last couple of weeks, that I hardly saw him. He would be back at midnight, sometimes 2-3am, by which time I would have already fallen asleep. I would be off to work earlier the next day, as he would sleep in for a bit more.

So whilst preparing for his major launch, which he worked the weekends through as well, we hardly had quality time together. Last Saturday was the first day since a week that we finally managed to have dinner together. He wanted to really chill out and relax, and so we decided that by the beach, watching the ships go by would be perfect.

Barnacles at Sentosa was perfect. The view of sunset was a very pretty sight. The assortment of warm French bread and FANTASTIC chilli crab sauce dip was HEAVENLY. We asked for a 2nd helping of the chilli sauce dip!!

We had oysters, briny-fresh oysters that was complemented beautifully with red wine vinegar .....

He had mussels - a whole bumper harvest of them!

My grilled salmon in light champagne sauce had the loveliest texture and aroma. I was really enjoying the food, and cherishing every moment spent with The Boy. We really missed each other's company. We missed our time talking, laughing and sharing, everything and anything. I haven't seen him much, so I was feeling very trigger-happy with the camera.

After dinner, it was a short stroll along the beach, to the sounds of a lovely jazz band playing. Goodness, Sentosa sure has a lot going on these days!

On the way back via ECP, it was perfect timing as we saw the spectacular display of firewoks over us, at the floating platform. That got us excited, as we look forward to our turn as spectators at the NDP on Aug 9!

Perfect ending to a perfect evening. His busy schedule at work has certainly made us realise that the phrase "absence makes the heart grow fonder" doesn't only happen when you are physically far apart.

ahhh Barnacles...their location is great. The last time i was there (bro's wedding)..they were renovating. I like the view of the sea from there..looks like a ideal place for me too!

silver-crv > Go for a nice dinner with Judy! If baby Edgar goes along, be sure to bring some insect repellent though - I had some mosquito bites!!

lilsnooze > The food's great, go try! Haha, we can't even see smoke from our place - we see only as far as the trees. Hahaa.

imp > yup, fireworks was a bonus, we happened to be on ECP at the right time!

yuling > it has been SLIGHTLY better this week, but the poor thing's still working from home till the wee hours. :(

No, we would have loved to explore sentosa as a whole, try the luge, check out images of singapore etc! So that, we need to set aside an entire day for that! :)
