The Joy of Cooking

After a pampering mani & pedi this evening, I rushed home - I was determined to cook a little dinner for us, thanks to one of the many recipes from expert chef Beanbean.

This was in spite of the tempting offer from Heng-mummy to da-bao some food back from their place, as opposed to the extra effort I would have to put in to prepare dinner. Plus, The Boy may get too hungry by the time I finish cooking. But the bacon I got from Jason's yesterday was waiting in the fridge. No, I've been wanting to try out this recipe for the longest time. So I pressed on.

Soon, the pasta was served. Accompanied with the lovely glass of wine I had envisioned all night. Verdict from The Boy: Machiam like restaurant food lor!

Heh, it was a hit. He loved it. And we got down to what I've been waiting for the whole day - spending some quality time with my husband, catching up, tucking into home-cooked food. This is bliss. (Till the washing came later...)

Dessert was this new flavour we decided to try out. WICKED!

beanbean & lilsnooze > haha, I WOULDN'T have cooked too, after mani. but I didn't paint my nails this time round, just buff and shine. The nail polish would be soon wasted, cos of the cooking class on Sat. ;)

beanbean, you're right, the cream pasta was really easy and fun to make! (Fattening though, heh... yikes)

silver-crv > no lah, i can cook for 2 pax, max 6. I cannot deal with large groups lor!! :p

wahahahha. the thing that jumped out at me is exactly what the other girls said- the cooking after a manicure!

wieeeeeeeeeee. :) i don't even want to do anything of any sort that requires my hands a great deal after a manicure! you is good.

Haha... seems like everyone thinks alike. I hate to cook after having a mani, not that I will ruin the nails since I still carry on handwashing some clothes but more like I hate to think of nail polish getting into the food and all. So painted nails are strictly for the wkends or if we are heading home to sg, i.e. days of no housework at all!

lingz, imp, domestic rat > hahahaha, like you ladies, I WOULD NOT have attempted to spoil my lovely mani with some housework/cooking right after. It was just that I actually had my nails trimmed very short this time round, didn't opt for nail polish - I wanted to keep them short because of the cooking lessons I've been attending. Next one is this sat, so don't wanna
"waste" it so fast! :)

But it's really quite hilarious to see how all we ladies picked out this fact about cooking after mani SO FAST!!! ;)

tiffany > haha, it's just... cream. thickened cream from bulla :)

starving sponge > you're back!!! Haha, i'm planning planning... for da feast! But be sure to come help me ok! :D

okay I am so late in posting this, but i thought just like ALL the other girls! Anything after mani is scary, and cooking would have been the worst! Know what? I'm also been doing only buffing and shaping these days, since the cooking bug can hit anytime :)

oh but great cooking tips - thanks for sharing!

Haha, like I said, I definitely would NOT cook after a nice mani. But since my nails were short, no prob!

Always enjoy these sharing of tips between us bloggers, it's a great way of learning the tried and tested!! :)
