If It Swims, We Have It

And that's where we had dinner last evening, after the shopping spree at Haji Lane. It was to celebrate my mum's birthday which was last Sunday, when she was on holiday in Malacca with my dad.

All these years, prior to their renovation, I've never stepped into this seafood restaurant. Default was always Jumbo or Long Beach. So I was so tickled to see a mini supermarket right in front, once we stepped in from the entrance. I was so amazed that you can pick exactly what you want for dinner, including the veggies!

It was fun, watching my dad pick the crab for our chilli crab dish, and the fish that swam the fastest - he claims that if it swims fast, it's agile, and that means fresh.




And when we were done, all the "chosen ones" were put into the supermarket trolley, to which I was pushing around gleefully. Soon, they would be passed on to the kitchen - an open concept one, which looked really busy and scary. I can so imagine the chaos and tension inside, given that the restaurant was so packed.


Food was good, although service was a bit clumsy. My bro claimed that the chilli crab was even better than those we've eaten before. Indeed, the sauce tasted somewhat different from the normal chilli crab sauce that we know so well. The freshness was very evident too. Hopefully, Missing Sponge will be able to join us the next time round. Dinner was so good, I forgot to take pictures! Maybe next time then!
