EJism 2006

My turn now to do a summary of 2005 and my resolutions for 2006.

2005 has got to be one of the best years of my life, like how my dear friend SY puts it - you've got love, a man, a proposal and a big rock! Haha. But really, it's more than that. I first said "yes" to God, our Father. Got baptised and confirmed into the catholic church. It was a significant journey that I had, walking through the course of RCIA. Walking down the aisle to receive the sacrament of eucharist, AND with my family siiting on one of the rows of pews behind, I can only say "Thank you Father!".

The next big step was the Jemej's decision to get our own habitat. Having said yes to be with the one who is and will be my soulmate for life from now, the journey ahead will be filled with, like how they put it, sugar and spice and all things nice. Going through the often confusing HDB process of approval, and finally getting the Keys really brought us a huge sense of accomplishment and new-found responsibility - we are now proud home owners!

And of course, the Proposal ! Having watched all those movies and drama serials stereotyping how a marriage proposal is like, I often wondered how mine would be like. What I experienced was definitely beautiful, done in true Jem-style. Again, please allow me to give him all the credit for his creativity. Thank you Munch.

2006 will be another GREAT year. We are already on our journey towards the Jemej Wedding and the Life Together. Life is never a bed of roses, and I will not be expecting that. But what I do know is that I will need a lot of strength and guidance from Him to not let the ugly side of human nature take control. The 9 fruits of the Spirit - Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Fatihfulness, Gentleness, Self-Control - these I need to have in me, to achieve the one big resolution this new year, and always - to make every moment count.
